SIGN SERVICE TECHNICIAN POSITION SUMMARY:

Bootz & Duke Sign Co. is a full-service, family-owned, and operated sign company based in Phoenix, AZ. With more than 60 years of success, we have continued to grow and persevere as a leader in the sign industry. We are seeking a full-time, Sign Service Technician to join our team. The right candidate will be a dependable, customer service-oriented, team-player with experience working in the commercial sign industry. Prior electrical experience and familiarity working with tools and electrical/wiring. Candidate must be able to furnish a 5-year MVR, pass a DOT physical examination, and maintain a clean driving record for the duration of employment. SIGN SERVICE TECHNICIAN DUTIES:

Ensures a safe working environment and safe operations of company vehicle(s).
Familiarity with parking lot lighting, neon, LED, and fluorescent lighting.
Ensure all applicable loads are secure and compliant to OSHA and DOT guidelines.
Follow the instructions of the Customer/Salesperson/Installation Foreman explicitly.
Review each job to comprehensively understand the task required.
Communicate discrepancies with work in comparison to the artwork/blueprints/specification/ instructions provided to the Installation Foreman.
Schedule workload appropriately while on site and prioritize future service work.
Service signs with accuracy and attention to detail.
Report any incidents or issues to the Installation Foreman immediately.
Maintain a safe working environment, including making sure all individuals, employees, and customers are always free of harm.
Must be willing and able to travel 25 – 50% to service sites, work an irregular schedule, and able to perform occasional overnight stays (in-state travel only).
Work efficiently and represent the company image in a professional and courteous manner.
Perform other assigned duties as needed.

SIGN SERVICE TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS:

Clean driving records spanning at least 5 years with no history of DUI.
5+ years of Crane/Bucket and forklift experience.
5+ years of proven ability to lead a team in the field with focus on safety and communication.
5+ years of diagnostic evaluation of issues with proven record of permanent resolutions as it relates to the sign industry preferred.
5+ years servicing LED/NEON lighting in letters/Cabinets/Monuments preferred.
Can provide own tools including hand tools, hand power tools.
Effective communication skills and decision-making ability.
Able to work overtime as needed and travel 25-50% of the time.
Proven track record of consistent attendance and punctuality.
Must be able to meet or exceed all safety requirements of OSHA & Bootz & Duke.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs unassisted, 75-100 lbs with assistance.
Must be able to stand, walk, and perform up to 8 hours with intermittent breaks.
Must be able to work on elevated surfaces in a bucket while properly harnessed.
Must have full range of motion [ROM] of arms and legs.
Hearing must be sufficient to be able to hear warnings and alarms and normal conversation.
Must obtain a DOT medical certification.
Must be able to withstand outdoor Arizona temperatures, in excess of 100 degrees, with proper hydration

SIGN SERVICE TECHNICIAN COMPENSATION:

This is a full-time hourly position.
Variable hours: schedule provided with as much advance notice as practicable.
Pay range is $25.00 - $30.00 DOE.
OT may be available but not guaranteed.
Frequent in-state travel required using company vehicle.
